On their website, the Solar Impulse Foundation announced that it “is selecting 1,000 solutions that protect the environment in a profitable way and awarding them the Solar Impulse Efficient Solutions Label.” Known for their development and global flight of a solar powered aircraft, the foundation describes the label as “focused on both environment and profitability.” They note that it “can be applied to products, processes and services and serves as a guarantee of quality to those looking to implement clean solutions, and affords a competitive edge to the innovators behind them.” The initiative aims “to demonstrate that solutions exist that are logical more than just ecological, that can create jobs and generate profit while also reducing polluting emissions and preserving natural resources.”
The foundation further developed a new website focused on the issue of plastic pollution. The website introduces some of the solutions they have recognized so far as working to address the issue.
