In an article published on March 16, 2018, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) informed that its scientists have developed a “comprehensive inventory of publicly available tools” that can be used to assess the safety of nanomaterials. The NANoREG Toolbox provides access to more than 500 tools “valuable for nanomaterial safety assessment” and can be freely downloaded from JRC’s website. In April 2017, JRC published a report on the NANoREG framework pursuing a common European approach to the safety assessment of nanomaterials (FPF reported). The now-released toolbox “supports the implementation of the NANoREG Framework,” JRC noted.
