The non-governmental organization Collaborative on Health and the Environment (CHE) announced an upcoming webinar titled “Microplastics: An emerging threat to global ecology and public health” to be held on January 30, 2019. This is the third webinar in a series titled ‘The Effects of Plastics on Health’ (FPF reported).
The webinar will feature talks by three speakers: Chelsea Rochman, from the University of Toronto, Canada; Stephanie Wright, from King’s College London, UK; and Nicholas Mallos from the non-governmental organization Ocean Conservancy, Portland, U.S.
The speakers will discuss the sources, contamination, and impacts of microplastics and microfibers, including impacts on wildlife as well as potential exposure pathways and effects on humans.
