In an article published on June 18, 2018, regulatory news provider Chemical Watch informed about the launch of a pilot website contactpointnano, aiming to “help companies operating in Switzerland access information about synthetic nanomaterials.” In the next two years, the portal will “gather and classify the existing scientific, industrial and regulatory knowledge and put it in one place.” Further, it will “provide users with access to experts, organize training, and act as an information-sharing portal.”

This project is supported by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, Federal Office of Public Health (BAG), and Federal Office for the Environment. It is led by Peter Wick, head of the Particles-Biology Interactions Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Testing and Research (EMPA).
