On March 6, 2013 the non-governmental organization Health Food Action will hold a webinar addressing the phthalate exposure arising from food contact materials (FCM). The webinar entitled “Food Pollution: What clinicians (and parents) need to know. The Problems with Food Packaging” addresses parents and clinicians. Whereas Janet Nudelman, program and policy director at the Breast Cancer Fund will discuss toxic chemicals in food packaging in general, Shanna Swan, Professor of Preventive Medicine at the Mt Sinai School of Medicine, U.S., will discuss the science underlying health risks arising from phthalates. The webinar will be moderated by Lindsay Dahl of the non-governmental Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families coalition, which unites 450 organizations.
