On November 12, 2018, at 04:00 pm CET (Central European Time), the Food Packaging Forum (FPF) held a public webinar on the American Academy of Pediatrics’ (AAP) perspectives on food additives.
This webinar reviewed an AAP technical report and policy statement on food additive chemicals, including indirect food additives (i.e. food contact substances) (FPF reported), with guest speaker Dr. Leonardo Trasande of the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, U.S.. While the webinar focused on the U.S. policy context, the implications for global policies were also addressed. Dr. Trasande discussed safe and simple steps to limit chemicals of greatest concern, with a focus on food contact articles. His presentation was followed by an interactive Q&A session.
