On December 3, 2020, the Race for Water Foundation held a webinar featuring a presentation from Jane Muncke of the Food Packaging Forum and Pete Myers from Environmental Health Science that provided an overview of the current knowledge on chemicals present in plastic, their toxicities, and their potential for migration into food. The speakers also reflected on shortcomings of current chemical regulations and ongoing policy challenges as well as on potential next steps where the industry can play a key role and take the lead. In the final part of the webinar, a 30-minute Q&A session took place where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss.
