On June 28, 2022, the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN) hosted a webinar discussing the chemicals detected in food contact materials (FCMs) as well as the risks they might pose to health and the policy opportunities to address them.

This webinar featured a presentation from three Food Packaging Forum scientists about the recently published FCCmigex database including Justin Boucher, Birgit Geueke, and Lindsey Parkinson. Jodi Flaws, Professor of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, spoke on behalf of the Endocrine Society on the potential health impacts of exposure to hazardous chemicals in FCMs, and Vito Buonsante, Senior Policy Advisor at IPEN, spoke about policy opportunities. The webinar was moderated by former IPEN Co-Chair Sharyle Patton, Director of the Commonweal Biomonitoring Resource Center.

During the webinar, the speakers each presented and then joined for an open discussion with the audience. The full recording of the webinar is available above in English, and it has also been translated into Spanish, French, Russian, and Arabic.
