On June 15, 2016 the European Commission’s (EC) Joint Research Centre (JRC) published a report on the “Screening methodology to identify potential endocrine disruptors according to different options in the context of an impact assessment.” The impact assessment (IA) was initiated by the EC in the scope of its task to define scientific criteria for identification of endocrine disrupting chemical (EDCs) (FPF reported). The methodology developed by the JRC was presented at a technical meeting held by the EC’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) in November 2015 (FPF reported), and focused on selecting the substances for the IA and screening their potential for identification as EDCs according to the four different options for criteria setting outlined in the EU EDC roadmap (FPF reported).

Also on June 15, 2016, the EC published – with a delay of two and a half years – a proposal for the criteria to identify EDCs in the field of plant protection products and biocides (FPF reported).
