On July 3, 2019, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that it has added a set of new features and improvements to its chemicals database. These include the following:

  • Lists describing current regulations and regulatory activities restructured and presented in expandable blocks, including reasons for the substance being on key lists
  • Names of substances translated into different EU languages
  • Explanations updated and complemented with links to further information
  • Quick links provided to key data sets including brief profiles, REACH substance fact sheets, the Classification and Labelling (C&L) Inventory, biocides data, and the public activities coordination tool (PACT)
  • Infocards complemented with a new nanomaterial section showing whether substance is on the European market with links to the EU Observatory for Nanomaterials (EUON)
  • REACH registration data now automatically links to the OECD’s eChemPortal
