On May 25, 2022, the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN) will host a webinar on “revealing chemicals in food contact materials, health threats, and global policy opportunities.” The event will provide viewers an insight into the latest science on chemicals in food packaging, inform about health threats from endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in plastics, and give an overview of global policy regulations and opportunities to address chemicals of concern. In the first half, speakers from the Food Packaging Forum will introduce a new, publicly accessible database on chemicals that have been measured in migrates and extracts of food packaging and other food contact articles. In the second part, representatives from the Endocrine Society will discuss examples of EDCs in plastics and inform about global policy regulations and opportunities to address chemicals of concern.

Registration is free, and the webinar will be available in English, Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish. More information and registration is available on the event’s page.
