The European Plastic Industry Association PlasticsEurope commented on the ANSES’ bisphenol A (BPA) report published yesterday, saying that it cannot follow the agency’s conclusions. In an article published yesterday, April 10, 2013 in the online magazine Food Production Daily PlasticsEurope states that the report ‘seems to disregard the accepted norms of European risk assessment and is in contrast to the EFSA opinion’. The report by ANSES had concluded that prenatal exposure to BPA could be linked to a variety of diseases and that the specific migration limit, as valid in the European Union should be significantly reduced.
