On May 19, 2022, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) opened a two-month-long request for information concerning ortho-phthalates in food contact use (FPF reported). But on July 19th after concerns from stakeholders, the FDA extended the comment period until an unknown deadline to be published later in the Federal Register. The agency has received over 23,000 submissions so far.
