On March 21, 2018, at 01:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), the Collaborative on Health and the Environment (CHE) will hold a webinar on environmental chemicals that can disrupt the body’s fat regulation, so called obesogens or metabolic disruptors. Prof. Dr. Bruce Blumberg, professor of developmental and cell biology, pharmaceutical sciences, and biomedical engineering at the University of California Irvine, U.S., will discuss “The obesogen effect: Why we eat less and exercise more but still struggle to lose weight,” which is also the title of his new book to be released on March 20, 2018. The “obesogen hypothesis” proposes that environmental chemicals can “play a role in exposing preexisting genetic differences or amplifying the effects of diet and exercise” and thus influence body weight.

Registration and more information are available on the event website. The webinar will be recorded and can be accessed for on demand viewing afterwards.
