On October 21, 2020, Business Reviews Webinars will hold a free public webinar discussing chemical migration from materials and relevant testing approaches. In the first part of the webinar, presenter Roger Pearson from Aspen Research will discuss some of the case studies his analytics company has completed on chemical migration from recycled polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) plastic food packaging. These studies were performed as part of the so-called ”challenge tests” designed to measure the contaminant removal efficiency of recycling processes. Such tests are often required in order to gain regulatory approval for using a particular recycling process. The second part of the webinar will discuss testing for extractable and leachable chemicals present in pharmaceutical container systems and medical devices. The talk “will focus on real data experiences and will share actual study successes and problems.”
