On May 28, 2017, the Food Packaging Forum (FPF) held part 2 of its public webinar on food contact materials (FCM) regulation in China with guest speaker Dr. Marco Zhong, director of the National Reference Laboratory for FCMs in Guangdong, China, and chairman of the Expert Committee for FCMs of the China National Food Industry Association. Part 1 of the FPF webinar on Chinese FCM regulation was held on April 25, 2017 (FPF reported).
Dr. Zhong focused on legal compliance under the new Chinese FCM legislation, explaining how to demonstrate compliance with the framework standard for FCM safety (GB 4806.1-2016) coming into force on October 19, 2017. After his presentation, Dr. Zhong addressed some specific questions submitted by webinar participants.
