On February 21, 2018, the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) published a notice in the Federal Register regarding the CLARITY-BPA core study. The Consortium Linking Academic and Regulatory Insights on BPA Toxicity (CLARITY-BPA) is a research program established by the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP), the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “to attempt to bridge guideline-compliant research conducted at the FDA with hypothesis-based research investigations conducted by academia on the toxicity of BPA [(bisphenol A, CAS 80-05-7)]” (FPF reported). The Federal Register notice announced the release of the draft NTP research report on the CLARITY-BPA core study. The draft report is available on the NTP website; comments can be submitted until April 12, 2018.

The notice also announced a meeting to peer-review the draft report, scheduled for April 26, 2018 at NIEHS in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, U.S., and open to the public. The meeting can also be followed via webcast. Registration and the preliminary agenda of topics are available on the NTP website. The registration deadline to attend the meeting is April 26, 2018 and for oral comments April 12, 2018.
