In a press release published on September 24, 2019, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) announced that the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Committee for Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) have supported a restriction proposal that was submitted by Italy to limit the uses of N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF; CAS 68-12-2). DMF is included in the FACET inventory of food contact chemicals.
