In an article published on March 18, 2019, industry association Plastics Europe informed about the outcomes of the 14th “International Conference on the Recycling and Recovery of Plastics,” known as “IdentiPlast”. The two-day event took place in London on March 7-8, 2019 and involved 340 participants. It aimed to bring “producers, converters and recyclers from across the plastics supply chain together with policy makers, public authorities and waste management bodies, as well as key figures from academia and relevant NGOs.”

Plastics Europe reports that the first day of the event “featured a global discussion panel on sustainability issues and solutions from the perspectives of different countries, featuring speakers ranging from Europe, Ghana, Colombia, Japan and North America.” The second day placed focus on “technical aspects of improving the management of plastic waste, ranging from increasing collection, improving sorting technologies and adapting recycling processes to a large variety of waste.” The next IdentiPlast conference is set to be scheduled for 2021.
